Hi! Some packages are dropping a configuration file in /etc/rsyslog.d but do not trigger a proper reload. The new configuration file is ignored until rsyslog is reloaded. Each package could try to restart rsyslog in its postinst. However, this seems a bad idea to try to alter a daemon from another package. Moreover, rsyslog may be in the process of upgrading itself and would not expect to be restarted while it was stopped a few seconds ago. Maybe a clean way to implement this would be to have a trigger on those files. No modifications would be needed in other packages. - -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.0.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.utf8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages rsyslog depends on: ii init-system-helpers 1.23 ii initscripts 2.88dsf-59.2 ii libc6 2.19-18 ii libestr0 0.1.10-1 ii libgnutls-deb0-28 3.3.15-7 ii libjson-c2 0.11-4 ii liblogging-stdlog0 1.0.5-2 ii liblognorm2 1.1.1-1 ii libsystemd0 221-1 ii libuuid1 2.26.2-6 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian13+nmu1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 Versions of packages rsyslog recommends: ii logrotate 3.8.7-2 Versions of packages rsyslog suggests: pn rsyslog-doc <none> pn rsyslog-gnutls <none> pn rsyslog-gssapi <none> pn rsyslog-mongodb <none> pn rsyslog-mysql | rsyslog-pgsql <none> pn rsyslog-relp <none> - -- no debconf information -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJVlp89AAoJEJWkL+g1NSX5vuIP/jvr8EaC3GTnGl4ZPvTvorge +xxwOxuHe+gVgP9TjJuRYz4RInilLdMnMqK/BPdxPoLUDCQ1+t240ngiXQwaDEV1 xjraAz20iT5Cyfcu7sUdypXDo1niyeuU5a6sxzxgXJPYjusqkM4z7yFsn0TCKjWz +8jlD8WBddeCetMe03ymHwjXQ6KjB3qnIBI902fisXuvmPj7n4m6GoVomAWjDJU6 fJ7yRRPTpdHnBqSlGGTBOoIjwtRifCdT7c48lQXVmcgogAwIWVCwW/q5vvbJErs3 YoDwfW634WDcqU9X/TT1qJjhrUv3FXN/WIhw5plXbm6B89UtHqvcj1Fm+vIR/Xhc eRi+aoaB+G7olIDvZS4viUSNON5rpe4dqp8sbeKHDt4n8hjH2xe4QIloodbBB65z nqGAu/cAz0A17xLGOUaSqxa7GoZBm5TySIBNYDcfh15lI7+EAjcK6jpFlQO+c0VH EHGgvquhdS0bJk2X0oRGzDg4z019o3X3b9H5t/EUl9k08a5+s97D3AngKAl1wOcI Cqhh9qMatE/jhYwxJhCOKAO4q1vJKxWzXuEEcs8S9yTmNh/E09cx7iAEovXOUhMk PkbWqzTIvGa1tWrx6z7jIE5/BCipBpE/6fjXX3Wjg8AmcKs0EguktpeyQO+p8gTj 7lpBR6E3CQuk3XxQi8JF =UG9Y -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
