Dear Maintainer,
since there was the big switch of sid to use gcc5 as default compiler suite,
the gnome metapackage became uninstallable. While this is less bad right
now (apparently almost all of the dependencies are satisfied), compared to
taking out the entire desktop environment with a seemingly innocent "apt-get
dist-upgrade", as it happened at the beginning of the switch, it still is
uninstallable after weeks, and I could not even find a bug report explaining
what needs to be done before it can become installable again.
While I understand that this can only be fixed working on other packages,
not in the metapackage itself, at least this information ("we know it's
broken, we know what needs to be done to fix it, we are doing it (add URL to
what's being done)) should be visible in a bug on gnome (where else should
one look for it?).
