I'd like to repeat that it would be perfectly simple to just upload the
current version with a fixed license - at least I do not see any reason
why it should be that hard.

Debian bug tracker:

Due to this license violation we can not distribute afex in the next
Debian release which we would really like to. Would you mind switching
