Package: gnome-terminal Version: 3.18.0-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? apt-get dist-upgrade pulled in parts of gnome 3.18 * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Right-click a Nautilus window, click "open in terminal", then try to ssh, you will be asked for your passphrase as the SSH_AUTH_SOCK environment variable is not preserved and so the ssh-agent is not found. Opening a terminal from the Gnome3 dashboard (panel?) works fine. Running "ssh-add" from this windows errors with: "Could not open a connection to your authentication agent." * What was the outcome of this action? SSH_AUTH_SOCK was undefined * What outcome did you expect instead? "echo $SSH_AUTH_SOCK" would return something like /tmp/ssh-blah/agent.1234 Ubuntu seem to have the same problem in bug #1411174 -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.2.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages gnome-terminal depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.24.0-2 ii gconf-service 3.2.6-3 ii gnome-terminal-data 3.18.0-1 ii gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.18.0-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.18.0-1 ii libc6 2.19-22 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.2-2 ii libcairo2 1.14.2-2 ii libdconf1 0.24.0-2 ii libgconf-2-4 3.2.6-3 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.32.1-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.46.0-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.18.1-2 ii libnautilus-extension1a 3.14.2-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.38.0-3 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.38.0-3 ii libuuid1 2.27-3 ii libvte-2.91-0 0.42.0-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 Versions of packages gnome-terminal recommends: ii dbus-x11 1.10.0-3 ii gvfs 1.26.0-2 ii yelp 3.16.1-1 gnome-terminal suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
