I'm having the same issue when trying to rename files. I have yet to
encounter such crash when using the batch renamer, but when renaming
individual files, Thunar randomly crashes on me every 4 or 5 rename
attempts.
If I could help with anything in debugging this, please let me know!
PS: please excuse me, I meant to say Tobias provided a backtrace. I
must have confused his name when reading from a second bug report.

Hi,
I would like to add that I have experienced this when renaming single files.
Mostly when copying the file name part from to replace the file name part
of a file with different extension. For instance, when copying the file
name part "graph.pdf" to rename "grap.pdf" into "graph.
