Package: proxsmtp Version: 1.10-2.1 Dear maintainers,
(E)SMTP RFCs say that when a client is sending mail data, it must prepend an additional dot to lines with a leading dot, and that the server must remove that additional dot. proxsmtp does not handle that correctly; when receiving mails, there is no special handling of lines starting with a dot; when sending mails, the only special handling of lines with a leading dot is to add a space at the end of the line if the line contains only one dot. The same problem exists in package clamsmtp (it has pretty much of the same code), so I will report a bug for that package, too. Regards Christoph
