I'm sorry to say but the empty environment variable problem was not fix
in version 0.9.9.4+git20150208.f600c0-5.
Maybe I was wrong about the upstream fix, I was too lazy to compile and
test myself.

It looks like upstream has dropped gtk-3 support, and due to #790181, we
need gtk-3 support. So it might be infeasible to do another snapshot. I
will patch the current version to have this

The empty env variable problem was fix by commit

The empty env var break bundle command:
