Package: devscripts Version: 2.16.8 Severity: wishlist I have taken to using this rune:
debcommit && EDITOR=: git-commit --amend -s This is convenient, except that it is rather wordy, and that it prints the commit message three times, nowadays. See below. I suggest that: 1. There should be a --signoff option or something which passes -s to git. It should probably fail with other vcs's until someone implements it by hand for those. 2. debcommit should perhaps no longer print the git commit rune, because modern git prints the commit message which is the interesting part ? Thanks, Ian. zealot:chiark-utils.git> debcommit && EDITOR=: git-commit --amend -s git commit -m 'cvs-adjustroot: properly exit nonzero in case of error. Fixes the first half of #839708.'
