Control: reopen -1 > The command ‘uglifyjs’ has a manual page ‘uglifyjs(1)’ that does not > helpfully describe the command: > > NAME > uglify-js - manual page for uglify-js 2.7.5
This is still the case; the manual page (now for version 2.8.29) does not contain a useful ‘NAME’ section. The ‘DESCRIPTION’ section also does not contain the command description. NAME uglify-js - manual page for uglify-js 2.8.29 DESCRIPTION bin/uglifyjs input1.js [input2.js ...] [options] Use a single dash to read input from the standard input. NOTE: by default there is no mangling/compression. […] The summary of options belongs not in the ‘DESCRIPTION’ section, but in the ‘SYNOPSIS’ section. This frees the ‘DESCRIPTION’ section to properly describe the behaviour of the command for a new user. I am re-opening this bug report, with the original request unresolved: > The manual page should have the sections described ‘man-pages(7)’ § > “Sections within a manual page”, with the content as described in that > document. -- \ “[Entrenched media corporations will] maintain the status quo, | `\ or die trying.
