Package: telegram-desktop
Version: 1.1.0-1
Followup-For: Bug #859172
I'm getting the same behavior. Can you please add this dependency.
Otherwise, I get a SEGV.
I think that raising the severity of this bug makes sense, since it is
affecting one of the most important arches that Debian supports

Please try starting telegram-desktop from the terminal:
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME= telegram-desktop
What is the output of:
echo $QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
?

Alright then, could you send a back-trace or a core-dump again? I hope
something changed in the new version of the package. In fact, there was
some modification in a code where Telegram crashes.

Telegram/SourceFiles/platform/linux/linux_libs.cpp:109. I saw it was

What I've done:
1. Loaded under XUbuntu 16.10 LiveUSB
2. Added Debian unstable repo
3. Installed telegram-desktop
4. Removed libappindicator1 and libappindicator3-1
The first one didn't even installed, the second one was removed and all
its dependencies.

Telegram-desktop build-depends on libappindicator-dev, however build system did
not deduce its corresponding library dependency (libappindicator3-1).
