could you please elaborate why you think this issue needs to have a severity of serious? Also it would be better get in contact with the package maintainer before doing such things. The meanings of the severity are explained here: https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#severities I see absolutely no need to adjust the severity as no data loss is given, no Debian policy is violated nor the is thunderbird doing any damage on the installed system. Yes, a crash isn't nice at all, but here on this bug report this isn't not enough to increase the severity to anything RC. -- Regards Carsten Schoenert
