Package: equivs Version: 2.1.0 Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-Cc: Niels Thykier <ni...@thykier.net>
Hi! Niels Thykier noticed that equivs makes direct use of debian/rules, in reference to the discussion about a possible switch of official build entry point. But when I checked the code, I didn't see why this would be even ideal right now? Doing the direct call means it will be missing several checks, and possible optimizations. Why not replace the «fakeroot debian/rules binary» executed possibly via dpkg-architecture -c, with a proper call to «dpkg-buildpackage -b»? Possibly with just -a<arch> appended? Thanks, Guillem
