Hi there, I'm the upstream maintainer of fusioninventory-agent. Sorry to have missed that bug.
As the agent purpose is to do system inventory and report the result to a central server, it tries to run some well-known commands. As such, it definitively not depends on tools provided by e2fsprogs. Then I would be nice to put the e2fsprogs dependency as Recommends.
