Package: dictd Version: 1.12.1+dfsg-4 Severity: wishlist File: /usr/share/doc/dictd/README.inetd.gz
README.inetd could helpfully note the debconf inetd option and whatever usual "dpkg-reconfigure dictd" or similar, so that you don't think you have to go through the various inetd steps manually. Could still describe the setup made, and keep the notes on tcpd permissions / listening (local or remote), but I imagine the debconf choice and defaults are often enough. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.4.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_AU.iso88591, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.iso88591 (charmap=ISO-8859-1), LANGUAGE=en_AU:en_GB:en (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages dictd depends on: ii adduser 3.117 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.66 ii dictzip 1.12.1+dfsg-4 ii libc6 2.27-3 ii libmaa3 1.3.2-3+b2 ii lsb-base 9.20170808 ii netbase 5.4 ii ucf 3.0037 ii update-inetd 4.45 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-5 Versions of packages dictd recommends: ii dict [dict-client] 1.12.1+dfsg-4 ii dictem [dict-client] 1.0.4-4 ii dictionary-el [dict-client] 1.10-3 Versions of packages dictd suggests: pn dict-foldoc <none> ii dict-freedict-eng-fra [dictd-dictionary] 2016.12.12-1 ii dict-freedict-fra-eng [dictd-dictionary] 2016.12.12-1 ii dict-gcide [dictd-dictionary] 0.48.4 pn dict-jargon <none> pn dict-wn <none> -- debconf information: * dictd/run_mode: inetd
