As reported upstream in the above bug, mpv will FTBFS when python 3.7 is made the default version of python. MPV fix attempt (upgrading waf): https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/5975 Waf commit which fixes this: https://gitlab.com/ita1024/waf/commit/facdc0b173d933073832c768ec1917c553cb369c Reverting the build system to python2 should also fix this.
