This bug can be closed if so desired. I went back to KDE so the issue of lesser
importance for me.
Not a bug, it's intentional and not implemented. Maybe upstream should
rethink.
Re start times - just install preload, if whished, maybe that helps. At
least it might be a good idea to add a recommend in the lxqt metapackage.

Installed LXDE for comparison so more info:
1. LXDE does provide provide feedback when apps are launched.
2. LXDE launches and shutsdown apps a lot quicker than LXQT does. The
difference is very noticible (2-3 seconds for LXQT in some cases, e.f. Firefox,
compared to a fraction of a second for

For some apps (e.g. firefox) it takes a couple of seconds between when the
Quick Launch icon is pressed and when the app actually opens its window. Other
apps may open relatively quick, in a fraction of a second. Currently LXQT gives
