Some extra information: I did some tests on an older system (HP t620) and it worked fine. The t620 seems to be using the radeon kernel module, while the t630 (with the bug) is using the amdgpu module.
(Maybe the bug title needs to include either the system name 't630' or the graphics card 'Carrizo/0x9874'?)
