What I tried to say is, that I think we should drop libelogind0
completely in Debian. Clients that use libsystemd0 to call sd-login
related functionality should continue to work when elogind is active
without needing recompilation.

Making libelogind0 provide libsystemd0 (e.g. via diversions) is not
going to work (at least not without huge headaches).

So I think the only way forward is to make sure the combination
libsystemd0 + elogind as backend works when it comes to sd-login related
functionality.
