Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 10.8

Dear Maintainer,

https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html

Log files must be rotated occasionally so that they don’t grow indefinitely. The best way to do this is to install a log rotation configuration file in the directory /etc/logrotate.d, normally named /etc/logrotate.d/package, and use the facilities provided by logrotate.

% l /var/log/matrix-synapse
total 322M
-rw-r----- 1 matrix-synapse nogroup 22M 2019-04-14 15:10 homeserver.log
-rw-r----- 1 matrix-synapse nogroup 100M 2019-04-14 11:43 homeserver.log.1
-rw-r----- 1 matrix-synapse nogroup 100M 2019-04-13 18:41 homeserver.log.2
-rw-r----- 1 matrix-synapse nogroup 100M 2019-04-13 14:53 homeserver.log.3

% l /etc/logrotate.d/matrix-synapse
ls: cannot access '/etc/logrotate.d/matrix-synapse': No such file or directory
