Package: sane-utils
Version:
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

  Purging the package "sane-utils".

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Looking later into the directory "/run/"

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Saw the file "sane.pid" containing the process number 2404, which did
not exist (as expected) in the output of "ps ax".

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

No "sane.pid" file in the "/run" directory
