I could reproduce the issue in a minimal
revertable Unstable qemu VM with this command:
/usr/bin/autopkgtest libsoxr -- null
As far as I see the test is called this way:
src/debian/tests/inst-check
src/inst-check
src/inst-check-soxr
$gen
