Thank you for reporting this issue, I was aware of it and totally forgot about it.
This will be fixed (fix needs to be done) with the 4.9.5 version that will be soon released (I hope) As I said in https://salsa.debian.org/phpmyadmin-team/phpmyadmin/issues/43#note_143733 phpMyAdmin works with Twig 1.40+ or 2.9+ now
