--- I am the owner of a 7th generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon on which there are a lot of audio has a lot of problem (for instance on kernel 5.5, sound card is not even detected by alsa). Most of the online forums and wiki (the Arch Linux wiki for instance [1]) tell the users to install firmware files directly from the sofproject's Github repository to fix those issues. I believe it would be better if one could install theses firmware directly from the Debian repositories.
