upstream bug has been reopened, I figured this may deserve to be as well

I wasn't even able to get to the Settings view in order to disable
hardware acceleration.
Found out about --disable-gpu and using that makes it usable again.
(This is running on a boring i915 of a Thinkpad X230)

I think http://crbug.com/1141354 is the same bug upstream.
Reproduced with google-chrome-stable (M87), and confirmed it does seem
to be fixed already in google-chrome-beta (M88).
