just a quick note: The binary driver in fglrx-driver 8.23.7-1 works fine
with 7.0 if you install it in the right location
(/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers) and make a link
from /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri, as that
path is hardcoded in fgrlx_drv.so.
