Maybe it's better to not include an X-Python-Version header and use

Close. If you remove the X-Python-Version header, you need to add
--no-guessing-versions to the dh_python2 call.

Hi. Was this change uploaded? I don't see it in 0.1.20 and I don't see any
newer versions. I'd love to merge this change into Ubuntu to knock one more
python-support package off my list. :)
Cheers,

I actually think the --install-layout=deb changes isn't necessary either.
Binary package contents end up the same with or without it.
BTW, I see you haven't uploaded the change yet. Any chance you could do that
so it will be easier for us to merge the change back into Ubuntu?
Thanks!

Hi,
I think it is good idea to fix these issues as soon as possible.
But it looks like time to rewrite debian/rules using normal syntax of

the Debian maintainers, so I try to do the minimal necessary to solve the
problem. I definitely recommend using the override_* syntax, as it makes your
rules file much nicer!
Cheers.

Looks great, with one minor comment. You have a target for
override_dh_auto_test but no body. Is that intentional, and if so why? (I'm

Dear Maintainer,
Upstream suggests that the tests can be run from the command line via:
python-mode-tests.sh in the tests directory.
For higher quality package, these should be run at package build time.
