Anyway, I am positive to try to figure out way to avoid breaking systems
where upgrading packages in a different order would work, but do not
know which packages have incorrect dependencies in earlier versions
leading to dependency loops and thus do not k

As for options on how to move on, I suspect rewriting battery-stat as

which I use for www.nuug.no and other places, so I hope it will stay

I tried, and noticed a few problems. First. there are .svn
directories in the tarball, making it hard to use with the debian
packaging, which is also in subversion. I'll work around it
against cyclic invocation of update-rc.d. Thanks.
I suspect this should be fixed in insserv, not in update-rc.d.
