I didn't see anything unusual here. Does you eee use the keyboard if you just
start acpid by hand instead of going through the init script? Does your
/etc/default/acpid set MODULES?

Thanks, but any idea why this needs to be so complicated? Shouldn't it
just require updating the symlinks?
Unfortunately diff.gz considers a change to a symlink to be an
"unrepresentable change to source" so it is nessacery to undo the change
to the symlink in the clean target.
