Hi,
I tried to reproduce in C, what the script does in Perl. The problem is
(or seems to be) (in both cases), that the path returned by get_cursor()
(gtk_tree_view_get_cursor) is NULL for some reason and this seems to
fail in libgtk2-perl. I sent a mail to the gtk-app-devel list.

Hello Heikki and Jakub,
Thanks for this detailed error report. I believe that I have fixed this
issue, by adding a grant on /usr/share/maven-repo/ in the file

created a new .deb in my PPA

The problem still appears to exist in Debian testing. However,
installing the latest python-vtk package from unstable (which also pulls
in libvtk5.2) appears to fix it.

I am not aware of any alternative, nor have I any idea what the
package did, so I do not know what to propose as a workaround. I
guess it was font related (ttf - true type font?), and hope some other

I experienced this problem when upgrading from 4.0-4 to 4.0-6.
It immediately laid havoc to the rest of the upgrade process,
and undoubtedly would have broken my system in interesting ways
had I not intervened manually (by creating the sh link).

I do have dash installed, but I chose not to use it as /bin/sh (my /bin/sh is
bash), so I guess predepending on dash solves nothing in my case.
It should be possible to upgrade bash cleanly, even if bash is used as /bin/sh.
