Michael, I think this may be a display manager that's not starting
consistently. I have got the thing to drop me at a login prompt a couple
of times where logging in and then startx worked fine.

So, I've tried again, this time restarting Akonadi when the migration script
said it was done. I tried two variations:
1) akonadictl restart before pressing "ok" on the window showing the kmail
resource migration. Surprisingly, this did not cause KMail to shut down. It

This package appears to have a trigger cycle causing upgrade issues from
Wheezy to Jessie. To fix this issue, you need upload a patched version
without this cycle *and* dpkg needs to be upgraded prior to your
package. The latter is solved by making dpkg "Breaks" your package.
