there seems to be a bug in g++-6 [1] that results in this compile
failure.
I think the only way to quell this bug at the moment is to force c++03,
i.e.
export DEB_CXXFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND = -std=c++03
in d/rules.
Because this workaround exists I'm not adding #829604 as blocker now.
