I have just built and tested the package using the latest upstream
release (8.28.8). This seems to fix a substantial number of outstanding
bugs for fglrx-driver. It also adds support for Xorg 7.1.

I have compiled a 2.6.16 kernel using CONFIG_OBSOLETE_INTERMODULE=y,
which provides the inter_module functions. The fglrx kernel module loads
fine and gives me 3D accel, but I still have Luigi's problem.

waiting at mentors.debian.net[1] for months. I would love to see
it go into Debian, but my sponsor has been very reluctant, a
