More useful would be trying to 'getent passwd long.realm.name\username'
on the user that is failing.

is that i can't do that during working
hours as it breaks the clients connecting to the machine... so i'll have

After upgrading the server to sarge the access from windows clients to the samba
server stopped working. all the samba packages have been upgraded from 3.0.10-1
to 3.0.14-a. in the logfile i get
