Package: src:linux Version: 4.9.30-2+deb9u1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
Dear Maintainer, Since upgrading to Debian stretch (from jessie), my Broadwell based Lenovo X1 Carbon has been locking up regularly, seemingly around 24 hours of uptime. My system is not under heavy load at these times. I'm typically just reading email (with mutt) or using a Web browser (Google Chrome). The system locks up completely and I have to hold the power button to force a shutdown and then reboot. The filesystem inevitably requires a fsck at boot and then I wait another 24 hours for the system to lock up again. When running jessie, I did not encounter such issues using the backported linux-image-4.9.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 package. I did experience similar issues on another X1 Carbon (also Broadwell) but the issue eventually went away. I've not isolated the issue to any particular activity. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 4.9.0-3-amd64 (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 6.3.0 20170516 (Debian 6.3.0-18) ) #1 SMP Debian 4.9.30-2+deb9u1 (2017-06-18) ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-4.9.0-3-amd64 root=UUID=6029ad9c-a1ed-42cc-8245-e12684a7bc99 ro quiet ** Tainted: O (4096) * Out-of-tree module has been loaded. ** Kernel log: [ 40.622848] snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC1D0: Mic=0x1a [ 40.622849] snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC1D0: Internal Mic=0x12 [ 40.626262] iwlwifi 0000:04:00.0: Detected Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 7265, REV=0x210 [ 40.628595] iwlwifi 0000:04:00.0: L1 Enabled - LTR Enabled [ 40.643943] iwlwifi 0000:04:00.0: L1 Enabled - LTR Enabled [ 40.646465] input: HDA Digital PCBeep as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card1/input13 [ 40.647177] input: HDA Intel PCH Mic as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card1/input14 [ 40.647242] input: HDA Intel PCH Headphone as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card1/input15 [ 40.653913] ACPI: Video Device [VID] (multi-head: yes rom: no post: no) [ 40.654877] input: Video Bus as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0A08:00/LNXVIDEO:00/input/input16 [ 40.656070] snd_hda_intel 0000:00:03.0: bound 0000:00:02.0 (ops i915_audio_component_bind_ops [i915]) [ 40.656076] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20160919 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0 [ 40.660646] fbcon: inteldrmfb (fb0) is primary device [ 40.671211] intel_rapl: Found RAPL domain package [ 40.671212] intel_rapl: Found RAPL domain core [ 40.671214] intel_rapl: Found RAPL domain uncore [ 40.671215] intel_rapl: Found RAPL domain dram [ 40.692908] iTCO_vendor_support: vendor-support=0 [ 40.694811] iTCO_wdt: Intel TCO WatchDog Timer Driver v1.11 [ 40.694849] iTCO_wdt: Found a Wildcat Point_LP TCO device (Version=2, TCOBASE=0x1860) [ 40.696226] iTCO_wdt: initialized. heartbeat=30 sec (nowayout=0) [ 40.697314] usb 2-7: USB disconnect, device number 3 [ 40.705059] EXT4-fs (sda2): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
