I do not have enough technical knowledge about the init-system and even
my bash-skills are rather limited, but I can say for sure the file
"/etc/network/if-up.d/upstart" which was intruduced in version 0.7.3 is
at least broken. It did not prevent my system I am on now from rebooting

Do you have Postscript-printers? As said, I have no problem printing to
a PCL5e printer, apart from the same error-message, but the printouts
are ok.

Hi,
today I had the chance to test cups with a pcl5e Printer (Brother

document! One can see that message briefly while the printjob is

apt-listbugs made me aware of this bugreport, I thought giving it a try

So, as it did not happen here at the FIRST run, I guess the issue is

Hi,
I can confirm a relogin or gconfd-2 kill (and so forced respawn) "fixes"
that problem. So it is rather a gnome principle as it seems. At least I
heard it numerous times a gnome-foo upgrade plus reboot or relogin is a
must.
I suggest to reduce the severity to minor. Maybe adding a sentence
Hi Sharuzzaman,
I found a card with the same chip in the cellar ;)
I tried m-a, failed, got newer source from sf.net (git or snapshot
tarball) and that builds. Try and see if you have more luck with the
source from there.

I had a brief conversation about that issue with a develeoper of compiz
