Did you usually use a UTF-8 locale or a latin1 locale before? It may
be that setupcon doesn't properly detect whether you're using a unicode
console or not. This is configured in /etc/default/console-setup, maybe
the upgrade path didn't work for you.

Here is an updated patch. I've checked all the places that upstream
marked as "ISSUE: 64-bit", but also a few other. I could run all the

I can confirm the bug. It is indeed due to chuck assuming that longs
are 4 bytes. The attached patch fixes that. Note that I avoided
changing the 0x3 mask because as documented it is just an "additional
word count" and will already be below 4.
