Can a correct fix be implemented. This is the output from a strace on the packaged version of syslog: 6880 open("/var/log/mail.log", O_WRONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_APPEND|O_CREAT|O_NOCTTY, 0 644) = -1 EFBIG (File too large) Applying the supplied patch, and recreating/reinstalling the package fixed the problem.
