I'm having the same problem, but using the r600g driver. I also get the
same crash if I force software rendering, so it's either a general Mesa
problem or a bug in g-c-c.

I'm having a similar problem, but instead of the grub menu hanging
around, the console is completely blank until X starts.
I'm using Intel graphics with KMS.
grub from unstable is working fine.

for me, so it's probably unrelated.

The rest of the methods to switch user (from gnome-screensaver, fusa,
gdmflexiserver) works and locks the screen.
