trying to set up a new LDAP in Debian Edu Buster failed because
/usr/sbin/gosa-encrypt-passwords is now broken in testing. The
encryption uses mcrypt, but php-mcrypt has

After testing, it seems to be that all you need to do is to replace
php5-cli with php-cli in debian/control.

After testing (manually updated to upstream 3.1.29 and replacing php5
with php in debian/control) the package seems to work with php7 - at
least with slbackup-php.
Please test and update the package to use the upstream release 3.1.29.

IMO it would be sort of a fix. As there would be feedback for the user about
