reinstalled from experimental/sid, and the problem went away, so
I'm not concerned any more.

I am experiencing the same problem after an upgrade of nautilus-data to
version 2.10.1-3 . I have filed a bug with the number 316853
accordingly. Comparing the .gnome2/session files, the only similarities
are the nautilus program. So I would guess that this is it. Another clue

What if you remove gaim from your session? It is known to have a
broken session handling. (Same question for xpad, but I doubt
