Package: pdl
Version: 1:2.4.2-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Even without the BAD2_demo/BAD_demo problem,
pdl does not build on AMD64 due to
1) the lack of the -fPIC option while compiling slatec/*.f
2) a segfault while compiling Slices.xs

This bug is not reproducible, seems like an error on the reporters side.
using debian/rules to build the package, -fPIC is correctly handed to the
compiler.
as the last upload (after adding a work-around for the perl EU::MM bug which
caused the BAD{,2}_demo problem) showed, PDL builds fine on all
architectures supported by debian.
