I've attached a config.log from my build failure on i386, which I reproduced by trying to run: 'dpkg-buildpackage &1 | tee ../build-log'. It looks to me as if the test program is depending on a read select on stdin to block, which won't be the case on buildd's or under pbuilder. -- Daniel Sche
