Frank provided a patch without the absolute paths. I think it's now time to upload the fix in case you have releasing lenny as one of your goals (or are you waiting for the upcoming jok^W vote?)
Without upload in the next days, it's fairly likely that, would I come again on this bug report, I will NMU the package. --
