I can confirm this problem. I've set a cron job to update the system everyday and got this from /var/log/apt/term.log: Setting up libpam-runtime (1.0.1-7) ... debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Dialog debconf: (TERM is not set, so the dialog frontend is not usable.)
