actually the problem on hppa is quite different. hppa has the _tid
member, but there are some pthread defines missing.
Reading http://bugs.debian.org/445682 makes me believe that pthreads on

Yup it is. hppa still uses Linuxthreads and has no nptl support as far
as I can see. If that is that case (what I belive) I would rename
