Technically this bug seems to only occur on amd64. the i386 version of
serna if free of this bug.
Is there a way to tell that information to BTS ?

serna is working nicely from a schroot 32bits without any problem.
Steps:
$ git clone git://github.com/malaterre/serna-free.git
$ make -f ./debian/rules get-orig-source
$ schroot
[you may need to xhost +local:]
$ dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc
$ sudo dpkg -i ../*.deb

One can now find an aspell 0.50.5 package here:
https://github.com/malaterre/PublicRep/tree/master/debian/aspell
Steps:
git clone git://github.com/malaterre/PublicRep.git
cd PublicRep/debian/aspell
dget -u
http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20050312T00Z/pool/main/a/aspell/aspel
Just a note: updating the aspell.hpp & aspell.cxx does not seems to
fix the issue.

in my case.
Background: I am trying to fix bug #568910 from the debian package
where serna is using a newer aspell library (0.60.6).
Thank you very much for your time.

I know. It is most likely related to using the system aspell library
(see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=568910#22) but I
was not able to debug the cause yet.

nome.
I cannot reproduce the issue using serna 4.3 from the download page
(+local installation).
This bug must have introduced by the debian packaging.

DocBook example as
well.
Dear serna developers, a backtrace is available on
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=568910
but at least I can not see any obvious hints. Also, I did not patch
anything regarding spelling. Any ideas?
Greetings,
Joachim
