Yes! I can confirm that the version in Wheezy doesn't have this bug, but
what for Squeeze, where the package isn't installable? ;-)

The package in subject fails to install (fresh install). This is the output
from terminal:
# LC_ALL=C aptitude install auctex
The following NEW packages will be installed:

It's surprising that this went unnoticed for so long in squeeze. But
anyway, I just did an auctex install in a clean wheezy chroot, and it
went fine. So, I've marked the current version in wheezy as fixed
(since that is the version I tested), but this problem was
