It's also terrible advice, I'm afraid, because it just stores up the
same problem for the future. Fixing your configuration using
'dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc' is likely to work
dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc ran without problems. I did not recreate the
pre-upgrade situation - sorry, no valueable data there.
