I believe that to fix this there is still a need for a new upload of python-pypdf (1) with an higher version number (an epoch?). I'm cc-ing the maintainer of python-pypdf, since I'm not sure that the BTS is knowing about the right addresses. It would be nice if this upload added a DeprecationErr

Package: python-pypdf Version: 1.23-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, updating python-pypdf from 1.13 to 1.23 breaks every existing script that use this module with an ImportError: No module named pyPdf. Changing pyPdf to PyPDF2 everywhere in the scripts
