Dear Maintainer,
I have the same problem (segfault at start, have never been able to start the
program), and also doesn't work for a newly created user. The gdb output and
backtrace goes as follows. Thank you very much.
$ gdb python2

it must be something in my configuration; i created another user and when
run under that account it runs fine.
